The Marina was purchased in 2007 by William Hosmer. Prior to the purchase Hosmer’s Marina was the location of The Tackle Box Marina, Robbie’s Marina, and Cubbie’s Marina. In 2000 the former bait & tackle store was burned leaving only the maintenance and repair shop.
After purchase in 2007 construction began for the new marina. The new building was built up from the shell of the old maintenance and repair shop. A second floor was added that currently houses two apartments. In 2009 Hosmer’s Marina and Smuggler’s Cafe officially opened. Originally both the bait shop and restaurant were operated out of the same building.
A patio was added in the summer of 2013 in the original location of the old bait shop. This offers patrons seating closer to the water to enjoy the beautiful North Country summer nights.
During the summer of 2015 ground was broken on the new bait and tackle shop across the road from Smuggler’s and right on the water’s edge. In 2016 the shop was opened, offering fishermen and boaters easier access to the shop. The old bait and tackle shop was converted into the Smuggling Room in order to provide more seating for restaurant patrons.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and we plan to continue offering the best service we can provide.
